A note from the Founders

It is with enthusiasm that we present the 2020 Chance for Life benefit for pediatric cancer. We’re so proud this little event that began 14 years ago has grown to be one of the best, most dynamic event experiences in Washington. Still, for all its fun and splendor, the meaning of the event has always remained constant: finding a cure for pediatric cancer and supporting those families who are fighting their battle every day.

By now, you may know the background of the event, as it is truly the foundation of all we do. Kennedy Snyder, the daughter of Brad’s best friend, was diagnosed with an aggressive spinal cord tumor at age 2. Desperate to do more for her, Chance for Life – a celebration of life, hope and opportunity – was born. The campaign has grown beyond saving the life of Kennedy and expanded to supporting the thousands of families struggling through cancer treatment.

In 2019 we raised over $2.4 million to fund both revolutionary trials and studies at Children’s National Hospital and research with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Specifically, clinician scientists at Children’s National are now conducting the first trial for pediatric brain tumors using immune cells that have been engineered to kill cancer and provide a child’s immune system a specialized weapon to help in its fight. This is what Chance for Life is about: using 100% of the event’s net proceeds to directly support those on the forefront oflocal cancer research and care.

We would love to see us work together and go all in at Chance for Life 2020 this year to give every child a chance for hope, a chance for love, but most importantly, a chance for life.

With humility and gratitude,

Brad and Callie Nierenberg
