About our Ambassadors
Chris Odoi-Atsem
Defender #3
Chris Odoi-Atsem is a defender for D.C. United in Major League Soccer (MLS) and is a Maryland local who attended the University of Maryland. He was selected 12th overall by D.C. United in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft and has gone on to make 17 appearances for the Black-and-Red. Odoi-Atsem joins the Children’s National for Major League Soccer’s Kick Childhood Cancer Awareness month after he overcame Stage II Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2018-2019. He was diagnosed in October 2018 and after completing treatment, he made his first appearance for the club in over a year on May 29, 2019 against Chicago. Odoi-Atsem continues to use his experience battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma to inspire and encourage children who are currently enduring the same experience he overcame.
Chris Seitz
Goalkeeper #1
Chris Seitz is a goalkeeper for D.C. United in Major League Soccer (MLS). He signed with the Black-and-Red on January 11, 2018 after 12 previous seasons in MLS. Seitz has made over 100 appearances in the league and recorded his first shutout win for D.C. United in a 1-0 win against the New York Red Bulls on September 2, 2020 at Red Bull Arena. The 33-year-old joins the Children’s National for Major League Soccer's Kick Childhood Cancer awareness month after a long history of supporting the cause. Seitz had surgery to donate bone marrow to a man who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on September 19, 2012. A decision that forced him to miss the remainder of the 2012 season and ultimately led to him winning the 2012 MLS Humanitarian of the Year award.
